Bitcoin Dada and Community Unite to Support Girls in Kibera: A Tale of Hope and Generosity
In a heartfelt gesture of kindness, Bitcoin Dada and a kindhearted community teamed up for a worthwhile project in the center of Kibera. This cooperative effort on 6th October 2023, demonstrated the Bitcoin community’s significant influence on real-world concerns, going beyond the usual conversation surrounding Bitcoin.

Kibera conceals innumerable tales of hardship and is renowned for its fortitude in the face of misfortune. The fact that girls frequently lack access to sanitary towels is overlooked amidst the many difficulties. This project aimed to alter that perception by highlighting an important but often disregarded facet of slum existence.

Initially founded in 2022 to dismantle barriers for women in the Bitcoin industry, Bitcoin Dada has expanded beyond its original education goal to meet local communities’ practical requirements. The intention was to discuss menstrual hygiene, which is frequently discussed in private whispers. The stories that emerged of girls who were afraid to ask for sanitary towels and instead turned to improvised solutions because menstruation is stigmatized were both tragic and inspirational.
